Civil rights leader and Baptist minister, The Rev. Jesse Jackson visited Menlo-Atherton High School today, appearing before a packed audience of 500 students and faculty at the Performing Arts Center.
According a report by M-A student Amir Moazami, Jackson said: “Whether you are red, black, brown or white, we are brothers and sisters. We cannot live without one another; we cannot live with violence, drugs or alcoholism. Everyone needs to be sober and to cherish everything because every test and every homework assignment matters.”
Editor’s note: We’ll be featuring more student observations and more photos by M-A teacher Betsy Sergeant Snow (featured above – selfies with members of the Black Student Union) but wanted to get this published in advance of the daily InMenlo newsletter.
