Twelve students received Principal’s Student Service Awards at Menlo Atherton High School PTA’s May 27th meeting.
Each year, the PTA and Principal Matt Zito present these awards to 9th through 11th grade students who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to volunteer service in the Menlo-Atherton or greater community. Criteria for selecting recipients includes social value to the community, leadership in service, personal determination, creativity and initiative, scope of responsibility and time given, and dependability and enthusiasm.
This year’s winners did projects ranging from participating in the Ravenswood tutoring program to sitting on the advisory board for the Sequoia Teen Wellness Center to spearheading an AIDS awareness day at M-A. They include Lindsay Andrew, Sophie Bock, Kiki Canny, Anna Dailey, Samantha Gaston, Henry Hilton, Simran Lubana, Healey Montague-Alamin, Clay Olsen, Daniel Vale Pedreiro, Lucy Prichard, and Max Prichard.
One additional student, Aaron Katzman, earned a Principal’s Commendation certificate for his volunteer work at the East Palo Alto Boxing Club.
